So you took our advice and ordered the Asus Transformer! Good for you but if you’re going to keep it in mint condition you will need a decent case to take the knocks.
There are plenty of cases out there but we have provided a round up of our top five based on both protection and functionality.
Here is the run down of the top 5:
1. rooCase Multi Angle Folio
$24.95
This case was custom made for the Transformer with a snug fit so there will be no movement of the tab within the case during transit. It is cleverly designed with access to all ports so no restrictions to functionality and the case can be flipped over to provide a decent desk stand for watching videos. In terms of construction this case has been lovingly put together using quality leather and features a sturdy magnetic closing mechanism. The luvtab lives up to its name and is the perfect choice for those wanting decent protection with an executive style.
2. Roo case Red
$24.94
For those bored of black leather style cases looking to add a bit of colour the Roocase is also available in brown, magenta and red. Its injection molded so is pretty dam sturdy and offers 4 different adjustable angles that can be used for viewing, displaying and typing. We also liked the microfibre interior which will prevent scratching your tab from repeated use.
3. Navitech Black Executive
$14.99
This case offers all the features of the Luvtab but at a much lower price. In our opinion it doesn’t fit quite as tight and its not made from real leather but it is held together with some strong stitching and offers a choice of viewing angles when used as a stand.
4. Tuff-Luv Veggie Leather Book Case
$74.99
If you’re wondering why this case is called the veggie its because its made of faux leather allowing you to rest easy in the knowledge that no cattle were harmed in your pursuit to protect your Transformer. The Veggie offers plenty of protection as its very chunky and the inner straps provide a tight fit. If you like to view movies it has a stand but it’s more like the ones found on traditional photo frames and doesn’t offer the same amount of support as the fold over stands found on other cases and typing this way is a nightmare. Other features include magnetic clasp. pouches for other accessories and brilliantly a full life time guarantee.
5. ASUS official Transformer Case
$48.99
The official case from Asus has taken a bit of stick so far in online reviews, mostly due to its price but also because you can only charge the tablet with the case open. Its a well made neoprene case that fits tightly but other than bearing the Asus logo has little more to offer than its cheaper competitors.

Hmmm… The “rooCase Multi Angle Folio” looks identical to the CaseCrown case. The fit is very nice and feels good in the hand. However, there is a major flaw – the magnets used in the closing mechanism. They interfere with the compass/gps. I read about this on the forums on Amazon after I had purchased my case. I was able to verify that the magnets were the problem by booting up the compass app and using it both with and without the case. The compass goes wonky when in the case. I’d suggest avoiding cases with magnetic closures – hopefully they’ll redesign this case with velcro instead.

Thanks for this list. I know it’s a bit pricey but I do like the Tuff-Luv Veggie case.
